the goldbergs –

Happy Hump Day, y’all! Sorry I’m late on the post for today, it’s been a busy day!

Last night my roommate and I were working on homework in our living room. We have Apple TV and he was playing some music through the TV, and a song by James Blake came on that I had never heard. I haven’t been able to listen to anything else, so here’s is James Blake’s cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You” –

James Blake has a phenomenal voice, and I love a good piano ballad. More importantly I think covers are great. So clearly this was a match made in heaven. Definitely up there next to Bon Iver’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”.

—————————————

I’ve mentioned it a few times, but I love television. I love getting invested in the characters and their stories. I love laughing at comedies like Parks and RecreationI love getting way to involved in dramas like Scandal.

One of my favorite parts of a new school year starting is the return of old series, and the launching of all new series.

Today I wanted to talk about one my favorite new shows this fall.

the goldbergs –

The Goldbergs centers on a normal family in the 1980s. The main character is Adam, the youngest. He spends his time video taping his family and trying to understand growing up.

However, my absolute favorite character is Beverly, the mom. She is absolutely hilarious, and I’ve never doubted for a second that she is an overbearing mother from the 80s with her denim jumpsuits, windbreakers, and her big blonde hair.

Part of why I like this show so much is because it is so relatable. In these first eight episodes I have been able to see myself and my family in different situations, and have been touched by that.

This is a short post, because I don’t know what to say other than that you should absolutely watch The Goldbergs. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
